4th Announcement - September 4, 2013
The organization of the 2013 LARIM is proceeding at full speed. We are now 100 days away from what promises to be an exciting meeting. Please read the following announcements carefully. Besides novelties about the meeting, we have tried to cover frequently asked questions. Some of your servers are bouncing our emails or classifying them as spam, so we recommend you to keep an eye on our web page, where announcements like this and further information are available.
(1) Results of the abstract selection by the SOC
The number and high quality of the abstracts made the selection of short-talks an extremely hard task. We have stretched the number of parallel sessions to 4 to accommodate more oral presentations, but we still had to leave a large number of excellent abstracts to be presented as posters.
Abstracts selected for short talk presentations are listed here. Short-talks will be 15 minutes long, followed by 5 minutes for questions.
Poster presentations are listed here. Information of poster size-limits will be posted in our page in due course.
(2) Abstract book, program, & cancellations
The abstract titles and text will be edited to correct for typos. An abstract book will be produced approximately one month before the meeting and posted in our web-page, so that you will have time to “proof-read” your abstract and correct it, should it be necessary.
The detailed schedule of the talks will be announced closer to the meeting. Minor revisions on the lists of talks and posters may occur due to eventual cancellations.
If for whatever reason you cannot actually come to Florianópolis, please let us know, preferably using “cancellation Your Name” as the email subject.
(3) Last call for registration …
If your work is marked in red in the short-talk or poster lists it means you have not registered yet. Please fill in the registration form before September 15. Registered participants are listed here.
(4) … and discount registration fee payment!
We remind you that the definitive deadline for discount-fee payment is September 15. After that, the registration fee increases from R$600 to R$700 for doctors, and from R$300 to R$350 for students. Even if you intend to pay the late registration fee, please do not forget that the registration form must be filled in before September 15.
(5) Hotel booking
Participants should make their own lodging arrangements. We will not book a hotel for you nor chose a colleague for you to share the room with! The list of registered participants is a good place to look for room-mates, but you should contact them directly and individually.
The accommodation link in the LARIM2013 webpage lists several options. The hotels offering discount rates for participants are Oceania Park, Porto Sol Quality and Praiatur, but there are plenty of other options.
(6) Miscellaneous reminders
Acceptance letters: Formal acceptance letters have been posted here for download, but only for participants who have already registered. This list will be updated after the registration deadline on September 15.
Language: As in previous LARIM meetings, the language used in oral communications will be Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
Presenting authors must be present: Several authors have been asking us if some colleague or collaborator could present their work in case they cannot come to Florianópolis. The answer is no. Your work can only be presented if you actually come to the meeting.
Etc: Information on transportation, poster-sizes, proceedings, activities, and etc will be posted in the web site.
