3rd Announcement - August 2013
25 - 30 November 2013, Florianópolis, SC, Brazil
(1) Program and payment: New dates
Interest in LARIM2013 has been overwhelming: over 600 participants have registered for the meeting!
Due to the huge number of applications for talks, we are delaying by a couple of weeks the announcement of the results of the SOC selection of talks. This will be announced in our web page by September 7 at the latest. We are also extending the deadline for payment of the cheaper registration fees (R$600 for doctors and R$300 for students) until the 15th of September. After this date the fees will be R$700 for doctors and R$350 for students.
(2) IAU Travel grants
As previously announced, the number of IAU travel grant applications (236!) surpassed our available budget by a huge margin. The list of applicants awarded with these funds is available at http://www.larim2013.org.br/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=55&Itemid=82.
Researchers from Brazilian institutions (including those who applied for IAU travel grants) will be supported by CNPq, CAPES, FAPESP… following the same scheme used in the S.A.B. annual meetings. We are still waiting the results of some applications for funding, but it is certain that there will not be enough resources for every one. Therefore, as usual, everyone should keep seeking financial support from his/her own institution.
(3) Accepted abstracts and acceptance letter
All abstracts have been accepted by the SOC, but participants who submitted more than one abstract as a presenting author will only be allowed to present one work (be it as a short-talk or poster) due to space & time constraints.
Several participants have been asking us for formal acceptance letters in order to support their pledges for funding from their institutions. So far we have been providing these on a per-request basis, but we have now produced formal acceptance letters for all registered participants. They are available for download at http://www.larim2013.org.br/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89&Itemid=106.
There are still cases of people who have sent an abstract but have not registered. Please fill in the online registration form at
(5) Reminder about language
As in previous LARIM meetings, the language used in oral communications will be Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
