LARIM2013 is just a couple of weeks away. This last announcement updates and reinforces some previously given information and gives you some new info about transportation and the conference dinner. As usual, this message is echoed on our web page. Eventual last minute communications will be made only through the web page and the facebook group.
1) Transportation from the airport on Sunday 24th November
There will be 8 buses from the airport to Praia dos Ingleses, stopping at the three main hotels: Oceania, Praiatur and Porto Sol Quality. Participants lodged somewhere else should check which of these stops is more suitable. Student helpers will be at the airport to welcome you, help with money exchange and lead you to the buses.
Buses will leave the airport at the following times: 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 21:00 and 24:00.
Participants arriving at later times should take taxis. Each bus fits about 45 people. If there is no space left in a bus you should take a taxi (the students will help you sharing one with fellow participants).
2) Registration, posters and cocktail
Registration will be on Sunday from 3 pm to 7:30 pm. We suggest you check in your hotel and go to the conference center for registration. Posters should also be set up on Sunday. A welcome cocktail will be offered Sunday at 8 pm at Oceania Convention Center.
3) Conference dinner
The conference dinner will take place in the evening of Wednesday 27th November. Details are available at this link on our web site. Notice that you will have to pay (R$125,00, in cash) as soon as you arrive at the registration desk, and in any case no later than 11:00 am Monday, to ensure participation in the dinner. Book your place and find more about it here: http://goo.gl/WvU8PM. Participants wishing to attend the dinner but who will arrive after our Monday 11:00 deadline should also fill the web-form here and pay upon arrival at the registration desk.
4) Programme and etc.
The detailed programme for LARIM2013 is available on our web page (http://goo.gl/ZwQ7Jz). Except for minor changes, it is basically the same programme posted a month ago. Because of our busy schedule, speakers are asked to observe their time limits strictly.
Please re-read the Instructions for presenters in the fifth announcement for details on file formats and poster sizes as well as information related to our proceedings. It is strongly recommended that speakers bring their .pdf, .ppt or .key presentations ready and give them to our secretaries upon registration, and in any case no later than at the session before your presentation session.
Participants who opted to pay the registration fee upon arrival should recall that the payment must be done in cash at the registration desk in Oceania Convention Center. We will not accept credit cards.
We re-recommend that you buy your Brazilian reais either at home or in some airport on your way to Florianópolis. Most restaurants, hotels and shops accept VISA and MasterCard, but you will surely need some actual money, so make sure you do it before you get to Praia dos Ingleses, where changing money is not possible.
The Consent to Publish and Copyright Transfer form is available here: http://goo.gl/b6mWJd. It needs to be signed by only one author and delivered to the editors during the meeting. We strongly recommend that you bring the form filled in and ready to be delivered it at the registration desks.
Though temperatures should be in the high 20’s, there is always the chance of some rain, so pack in both your bathing suit and an umbrella.
